Retubing Services

Every stage of a condenser or heat exchanger retube – tube pulling, installation, expansion, trimming and automatic TIG welding – plus shell assembly, cleaning, leak detection and related maintenance.

Tube installation, expansion, trimming and welding can all be handled by the same crew, with fewer handovers between trades. Our retubing tools are designed and built in-house. The services below cover the equipment and tube materials listed; if yours isn't listed, ask us.

Working on tube ends inside a condenser
01

Condenser Retubing

Full or partial retubing of surface condensers whose tubes have started to leak or lose heat transfer after years of vibration, corrosion and fouling – from tube pulling and tubesheet cleaning to installation, expansion, trimming, seal welding and testing.

02

Heat Exchanger Retubing & Bundle Replacement

When leaking tubes have been plugged to the point where a shell-and-tube exchanger, heater or evaporator can no longer do its job, we pull the old tubes, clean the tubesheet and fit new tubes or a new bundle.

Tube expansion: one operator running several expanders
03

Tube Expansion (Titanium & Stainless Steel)

Once the tubes are in, each one is expanded into its tubesheet hole to seal and lock the joint. Our references cover titanium and stainless steel tubes in condensers, heat exchangers and desalination evaporators.

Facing tube ends
04

Tube End Trimming & Facing

After expansion, the protruding tube ends are trimmed and faced flush with the tubesheet, ready for tube-to-tubesheet welding.

Expanding, trimming, facing and welding tube ends on a desalination project, using tools developed and patented by Lanbo
05

Automatic Tube-to-Tubesheet Welding (Orbital TIG)

Tube-to-tubesheet joints welded autogenously with the orbital TIG welder Lanbo designed in-house, or manually with filler wire – for titanium and stainless steel condensers and heat exchangers that call for welded joints.

Condenser shell assembly for Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Plant Unit 4
06

Condenser Shell Assembly & New-Build Installation

Shell fabrication, shell assembly and new-build condenser installation at thermal and nuclear plants – assembly platform, bottom plates, side walls and final assembly, followed by tube installation, expansion, trimming, welding and hydro testing.

On-site assembly of two desalination evaporators (1,721 t each) for Hengli Petrochemical, Dalian
07

Desalination Evaporator Assembly & Tubing

On-site fabrication, module assembly, bundle replacement and tube expansion for desalination evaporators. References include a 12-effect evaporator built on site and two evaporators of 1,721 t each assembled on site.

Applying coating to a tubesheet
08

Heat Exchanger Cleaning, Leak Detection & Tubesheet Coating

Tube-side and steam-side cleaning of condensers, heat exchangers and chillers; vacuum leak testing of tubes and tube joints, including tracing small leaks; and protective coating of tube ends and tubesheets.

Heat exchanger tubesheet manufacturing
09

Heat Exchanger Tubesheet Manufacturing

Tubesheet manufacturing for shell-and-tube heat exchangers, oil coolers and evaporators, plus installation of new units (tube installation, expansion and welding).

Turbine journal repair
10

In-situ Turbine Journal Repair

When a turbine journal has been scored by a bearing wiped through loss of lube oil, or worn after years of service, we machine and lap it in place – the rotor stays where it is and does not need to be turned.

HVOF coating of steam turbine rotor blades
11

Turbine Blade HVOF Coating

High-velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) spraying of tungsten carbide–cobalt and nickel-chromium carbide coatings to protect steam turbine rotor blades against water droplet erosion and corrosion.

Send us your equipment details

Drawings or site photos help. We will go through the equipment, tube material and outage window with you, and send an engineer to site if an inspection is needed.

During our working hours (UTC+8) we usually reply within two hours.
