Turbine Blade HVOF Coating
High-velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) spraying of tungsten carbide–cobalt and nickel-chromium carbide coatings to protect steam turbine rotor blades against water droplet erosion and corrosion.

HVOF coatings are hard and well bonded, with low porosity and low oxide content. The process does not normally distort the blades or upset the rotor's static and dynamic balance. It is used to protect steam turbine blades against water droplet erosion and corrosion.
Equipment and tube materials
- Steam turbine rotor blades
- Coating materials: tungsten carbide–cobalt (WC-Co), nickel-chromium carbide (NiCr-CrC)
