What desalination projects demand
- Large equipment, assembled on site. Multi-effect distillation (MED) evaporators are usually assembled from modules on site, so the yard and fixtures have to be planned well in advance.
- Large numbers of titanium joints. An evaporator has a great many tube ends, and the quality and consistency of their expansion directly affect how the unit runs afterwards.
- Bundle replacement. As internal leaks and plugged tubes build up, the bundles eventually need replacing.
