# Desalination

On-site fabrication, module assembly, bundle replacement and titanium tube expansion for desalination evaporators.

### What desalination projects demand

- **Large equipment, assembled on site.** Multi-effect distillation (MED) evaporators are usually assembled from modules on site, so the yard and fixtures have to be planned well in advance.
- **Large numbers of titanium joints.** An evaporator has a great many tube ends, and the quality and consistency of their expansion directly affect how the unit runs afterwards.
- **Bundle replacement.** As internal leaks and plugged tubes build up, the bundles eventually need replacing.
